Frequently Asked Questions

Hot Tubs Installation:

Maintenance:

What is the electricity consumption?
15 kw per day.

How much will a Hot Tub cost to run?
Less than 80 pence per day.

How much will the cleaning chemicals cost per month?
Less than £5 per month.

What electrical supply is required?
16 Amp or 30 Amp depending on the model pool.
See the hot tub specification sheet which gives the pools amperage.

Can I install the electrical supply myself?
No. A registered electrician will need to visit and install a circuit breaker (fuse) in your electrical consumer unit, run a cable to near your pool and fit a waterproof plug and socket. Don't worry about this because it is no more complex or expensive than installing an outdoor water feature i.e. fountain pump.

What is the weight of a Hot Tub empty?
Less than 260 kg.

What is the weight of a Hot Tub full?
Less than 1300 kg for the 1000 ltr capacity models and less than 1800 kg for the 1500 ltr larger hot tubs.

What distributed load is required when I build a patio or deck?
Min. 320 kg/m2 (66 lb/sq.ft) for the smaller 1000 ltr pools and Min. 450 kg/m2 (92 lb/sq.ft) for the larger 1500 ltr hot tubs

Will the pool fit through a door?
It depends; the smaller models may.
See the sales sheet for exact overall dimensions.

I do not have a garden access; how do I get the pool into my rear garden?
This may be difficult. Look to the smaller models like the Amazonas. Measure your doorways to see if it will fit through the house. If not you may be able to hire a truck mounted crane; look in the Yellow Pages. This will not cost more than 10% of a pool so it is worthwhile.

Do I need to have water connected all the time?
No. Just fill form a garden hose and top up as required. We recommend to change the water every 3 months or sooner as you like.

Can I install my pool in a conservatory or pool closure?
Yes. Please call our sales line for more information.

Can I use the pool immediately after I apply the first dose of chemicals?
No. You must wait for 12 hrs after first applying the chlorine. It will need this time to heat–up from cold anyway.

What maintenance is required and how long does it take?
10 minutes a day (Baraboo Hot Tub only – no ozone) 20 minutes a week(on all other models)to check water condition and add chemicals as required. ½ an hour a month to clean the filter 2 hours every 3 months to empty and refill the pool. Every 6 months to a year oil the cabinet.

How long does the filter last?
This is dependent on usage of the pool and the degree of maintenance to the filter.

How are chemicals introduced to the pool?
After testing the water (e.g. with tester strip) any relavent chemicals are simply sprinkled in the pool.

E.g Check colour shade on test strip to see if each of 5 tests fall in to required shade range. If for example Free Chlorine is too low add chlorine granules at the specified rate.Or – if pH level is too high add dry acid at the specified rate-or too low add soda ash at the specified rate ( It is very simple ).
